Subsection 1: Accessing the Salesforce Setup Menu
To reset a user's MFA, you need to access the Salesforce Setup menu using your administrator credentials.
Subsection 2: Navigating to User Management
Locate the user whose MFA needs to be reset by navigating to the Users section in the Setup menu.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Log in to Salesforce with your administrator credentials.
Step 2: Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner to access the Setup menu.
Step 3: In the Quick Find box, type "Users" and select "Users" from the dropdown menu.
Step 4: Locate the user whose MFA you need to reset and click on their name to open their user details page.
Step 5: In the user details page, click on "Disconnect” in the App Regestration: One Time Password Authenticator.
Step 6: After pressing disconnect the user screen should say choose a Verification method. Choose the “from an authenticator app”. This will then display a QR code screen.
Step 7: Have the user on their phone remove the old MFA they had. Once done press the plus button in the top right.
Step 8: Click on work or school. Then press scan QR code on the phone and will display a camera to scan that QR code on the Salesforce page.
Step 9: Below shows after scanning the QR code with will display a 6-digit code and type that code into the SalesForce and the authentication you will use every time you login.
Issue 1: The user cannot log in after MFA reset.
Solution: Ensure the user follows the on-screen instructions to set up their new MFA method. If the problem persists, contact Salesforce support for further assistance
